Are we ready?

Well folks the countdown is officially on, I am 34 weeks 2 days pregnant. More pregnant then I have ever been :-) The Procardia I was taking to stop the contractions ran out this morning so now we have the waiting game. From what I can gather about 1/2 the women taking procardia go into labor within about 5 days of going off the medication, the other 50 % tend to go full term meaning 37 weeks or further along. We have no idea when Camryn will be arriving to join us or what is in store for us now, which of course makes us a bit nervous. but the reality is she is a good size and had the steroids to help with lung development 6 weeks ago and they won't be taking drastic measures to stop us should we go into Labor. So now is the time to hedge your bets on a Birthday for the little one!

Baby Brown update

I saw the dr yesterday for a regular appointment, so I thought i'd share an update!

I am currently 32 weeks 6 days and the baby is doing great! She weighs 4 lbs 9 ounces roughly and I got to see her in 3D for the first time. I think she has Cassie's nose and some mega CHUBBY CHEEKS!! The ultrasound did show things are starting to progress a bit.

My UA showed no Blood or protein, so the Kidney stone either passed or retreated. Blood pressure was good so we have no worries for pre eclampsia now.

I am to start weaning myself from the procordia this Saturday, going from every 8 hours to every 4 hours, that will last me to 34 weeks 2 days. The drs feel procordia isn't really effective after 34 weeks so we're just about done with that.

Basically my dr said they won't be doing any major measures from this point to stop Camryn should she decide to join us. ( I hope we are ready) She then did a physical exam and let me know she wouldn't be surprised to find me at 3. Luckily Camryn has other plans cause I am still at zero, so we'll see how the next few weeks progress for us, but we'll keep you updated!

I hope to add a post tonight with Camryn's 3-d picture and some newborn ones of Cassie, we can compare and see if they look alike!!

Classes and Lessons!

We had a busy weekend which started with Cassie attending a Big Sister class at the hospital, It was a really great set up with a story, practice holding the babies and then a tour of the rooms. All the kids sat together on the floor for story time and as the teacher was talking about the baby getting presents, She asked the kids if they knew about presents and my daughter chimed right in with" I know presents, that's Barack Obama" Of course all the parents laughed and we've since been talking about the difference in the president and presents. Cassie also got invited to show the other kids how to hold a baby, here is she helping out!

While up there they talked about soft touches to the baby which Cassie demonstrated with a slap to the babies face, NICE. Cassie also demonstrated how to sing to the baby, you'll need to turn you volume up to hear here, and notice how she is rocking back and forth, I think I may have too much help on my hands

Sunday we took Cassie roller skating at a local rink, she had fun but it was hard and she did make daddy fall, Sorry I didn't get a picture of that, but here is what I did get!

We also enjoyed some super nice February weather and got to ride our bike outside, such a treat since I just heard 10+ inches of snow Friday...Figures it is the 13th of the month right!

Better late than never

I've gotten two holiday cards in the last 2 weeks and one had that phrase written on it so I've decided to adopt it. As you can tell I have been slacking on my blog posting duties lately. I'll blame it on a few hectic weeks.
We celebrated my birthday in January, first a night out for the parents then a family dinner and cake celebration at home. Cassie picked me a pink cake and pink ice cream and pink candles ( is anyone surprised?)


And she sang me a sweet rendition of Happy Birthday.


The following weekend, I noticed on Saturday morning that I was having alot of contractions. I hemmed and hawed with calling in to the dr and finally just did it with the push of my mother and a friend. The dr listened to my story and he hemmed and hawed and decided with my history of Cassie being a preemie we should pry go in for monitoring real quickly. So we shuttled Cassie to our neighbors, and headed out. After arriving in the hospital and hooking up to monitors we found that I was having contractions every 2-5 minutes. Bring on the Terbutaline shots and the extra testing, the IV, the Antibiotics for a possible UTI, the Steroid to help baby Camryn's lungs develop if she did come and the fear that we were only 28 weeks.


I spent the weekend in the hospital resting, contractions were stopped progression was zero and I came home on Procordia (an oral drug to stop the contractions). Over the course of the next few weeks I got to visit the dr again and again with back pain, etc. Turns out they are pretty sure I have a kidney stone. the procordia is working, I am now 31 weeks and we are hoping to make 36. At that point they'll take me off the procordia because delivery would be safe. It is just a wait and see on the stone so I am trying not to think of the fact that as my dr put it I'll pry get to give birth twice in 9 weeks!

Since then we've all battled the Stomach Flu, daddy, then Cassie for an ENTIRE 5 days and even the lucky mommy. Here's the pumpkin crashed on the couch looking super sweet even when sick.


At this point the house has been thoroughly sanitized, we all feel better and we hope were 100% on the mend... Bring on the warmer weather and some fun for the Brown Family!!!

Oh no, more snow

It really is winter here, we got a storm Friday night and of course that means we all have to go out in it again.

Everyone had a great time till daddy pointed the snow blower in the wrong direction, Yep he hit Cassie as she sat patiently on her sled for him to come push her down the hill!

You can see she got a bit bored waiting and decided to play with (TASTE) the snow a bit! This is of course after he covered her and I assisted in some clean off trying my best not to fall on our icy yard under that fresh snow!

Once we got in and had our obligatory Hot cocoa we tried out our finger painting skills.

It was a great weekend topped off by the fact I am in the house ALONE writing this, That's right Daddy and Cassie are out on a super secret shopping mission so I am enjoying a rare quiet moment in the house, interrupted only by kicks in the side and playing puppies!

I am 27 & 1/2 week along now and feeling pretty good, I am a bit sore today and have felt alot of low tightening, possibly Braxton Hicks but I am sure hoping not yet! I actually had a dream last night that Camryn was born and all I really remember was her weight was 3 lbs 4 ounces. So we are keeping our fingers crossed here that baby makes it well beyond that weight and holds out for 10 more weeks.
